Initiatives

The members of the Global Medical Excellence Cluster are amongst the key players in the UK in biomedical sciences. Combining their world class research capabilities allows them to develop critical initiatives that shape the UK research infrastructure.

GMEC initiatives are designed to utilize the combined capabilities and resources of the cluster members to shape the UK research landscape, deliver cutting edge research and attract inward investment. Initiatives involve a core of investigators drawn from all or a subset of the member institutions and are open to scientists from external organizations.

New initiatives can be instigated by Board members in response to the strategic aims of their organisations. Ideas and proposals are also submitted by investigating scientists from the founder and partner organizations.
