University of Cambridge

King’s College London

King’s College London was founded in 1829 and plays a major part in science research. King’s College combines major biomedical research facilities with leading hospitals, two of which, Guy’s and St Thomas’ have been at the forefront of medical innovation and progress since they were founded almost 900 years ago. King’s College London is ranked within the top 25 institutions worldwide for Life Sciences and Medicine by the QS report and the Times Higher Education listings.

Imperial College London

Founded in 1907, Imperial College London is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. The College is ranked within the top 10 in both the Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings. The Faculty of Medicine is one of Europe’s largest medical institutions in terms of staff and research income. Imperial has formed an Academic Health Science Centre with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a partnership that aims to improve the quality of life of patients and populations by taking new discoveries and translating them into new therapies as quickly as possible.

Oxford’s Medical Sciences Division is recognized internationally for its outstanding research and teaching. It is one of the largest biomedical research centres in Europe, with over 2,500 people involved in research. Oxford has one of the largest clinical trial portfolios in the UK and great expertise in taking discoveries from the lab into the clinic. Partnerships with the local NHS Trusts enable patients to benefit from the close links between medical research and healthcare delivery. Oxford University was ranked best in the world for medicine in the 2011 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

UCL

University College London (UCL) was founded in 1826 opening up higher education to people of all beliefs and social backgrounds. This radical tradition is reflected in UCL’s research strategy, which focuses on addressing grand challenges by working together across the university. UCL has repeatedly been ranked among the top 10 world universities by QS and Times Higher Education listings and has an outstanding track record in tackling medical challenges.
