Gordon Kennedy joins GMEC as Senior Programme Manager

GMEC are delighted to announce the appointment of Gordon Kennedy as Senior Programme Manager, as of beginning of June 2010.
Following his degree in chemistry at the University of St Andrews, Gordon completed a PhD on the chemistry of genotoxic aldehydes at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (CASE award with Shell UK). After a short post-doctoral period at the University of Alberta, in 1991 he took a position in the medicinal chemistry laboratories of Glaxo (then GSK) in Verona (Italy) where he worked on a range of antibacterial and CNS projects. In 1999 he moved into the project/portfolio management area specialising in the early research portfolio and began to accumulate experience of cross-functional matrix working at the interface of basic research and management. He has recently completed undergraduate studies in systems practice and social sciences (OU) to complement this experience.
