8 Dec '11

The Government’s ambitious strategy for Life Sciences represents a major step forward in laying the foundations which will establish the UK as a world leader in biomedical research and development.

The strategy recognises the critical importance of building links between the academic, clinical and industrial sectors – a key component of the GMEC vision. Professor Sir Keith Peters, Chairman of GMEC said, “GMEC strongly endorses the Government’s reports: they constitute a comprehensive and intelligent strategy for medical and life sciences which has the potential to give the UK a significant advantage in medical and translational research and should provide a timely boost for the UK’s health care industries.

GMEC and its founders and partners are committed to working with HM Government to deliver on the strategy and its goals of enhanced innovation and improved healthcare.
